We’re proud to celebrate the impact of our partnership with King’s House School, whose generous support is helping more local children get the best possible start before they begin school.

Children who start school without the confidence, communication skills and routines they need are more likely to face challenges that can affect not only their learning, but their long-term health and wellbeing. That’s why early support is so important.

Last year, King’s House School donated £10,000 to support our work helping give every child a fairer start. The funding focused on building school readiness through stronger early years support and, thanks to our match funding campaign, the donation was doubled, allowing us to reach even more local families.

Together, we’ve been able to:

  • Recruit and train 29 new volunteers to support local families.
  • Provide more than 800 hours of home-visiting support to families across Richmond, including 29 children aged 3–4.
  • Welcome 20 families to our weekly Family Group sessions across three school terms.
  • Give 40 families and 55 children the opportunity to enjoy free summer activities at places including Kew Gardens, Hobbledown Heath and Hampton Court Palace.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at King’s House School for their generous support. By working together, we’ve been able to reach more local families and give more children the strong foundations they need before starting school. Partnerships like this are vital, enabling us to support families when they need us most and give every child the best possible start in life.
