Favourite quote or mantra: “If it is endurable, then endure it. Stop complaining” – Marcus Aurelius
“I’m running the London Marathon for Home-Start RKH because…”
It simply feels right, and truly a privilege to be able to support families who are facing difficult struggles. Strong family bonds can make such a difference during those moments, knowing I can play even a small part in helping young children and their loved ones strengthen that foundation means so much to me. Contributing to their journey, even in a small way, is both meaningful and incredibly motivating.
What motivates you most during training — especially on the tough days?
Training is the part of my day I look forward to the most, it genuinely makes me feel alive. Waking up in a strong, healthy body and having the opportunity to push myself every single day is something I never take for granted. It’s a blessing. Of course, in any marathon training plan, there will be tough days. But what keeps me moving forward is remembering that whatever challenge I’m facing is nothing compared to what some families are going through. That perspective grounds me and fuels me. And at the end of the day, I can’t let people down, and no one else can do this for me. So, there’s only one thing left to do: crack on and keep going.
What part of Home-Start’s work feels closest to your heart?
What resonates most deeply with me is the support Home-Start provides to parents who feel isolated with no support network. As a foreign parent in the UK, I know first-hand how challenging and lonely that situation can be, and it’s given me a strong appreciation for how vital it is to have access to practical assistance, emotional support and reassurance during vulnerable times. I feel very fortunate that my passion for running can be used to raise valuable funds for families in need and contribute to the important work Home-Start carries out.
What are you most excited about on marathon day?
Super excited for the day and seeing my wife and daughters on the finishing line
What’s your go-to post-run treat or celebration?
Ice Cold beer and Pizza
If someone is thinking about supporting you or Home-Start, what would you want to say to them?
If someone’s thinking about supporting me or Home-Start, I’d want them to know that their help genuinely makes a huge difference. Even the smallest bit of support can lift a family up when things feel tough. It’s not just about giving—it’s about showing someone that they’re not alone and that people care. If you’re considering getting involved, I’d say go for it. Your support really does matter, and it can brighten someone’s life more than you might realise.
